Club Captain - 2011
It is with immense pride as Captain for the 2011 that I welcome you to this year’s golf season at Breadsall Priory.
We have one of the most comprehensive competition seasons of any golf club with a lot of hard work and dedicated effort from the members of the committees. Spending the previous year in the position of Vice Captain has given me an insight into the efforts of Breadsall Marriott’s management team, our pros, the golf team and green keeping staff who are all genuinely striving to provide us with the best infrastructure possible. I am confident this approach will continue throughout 2011. So, take full advantage of your membership and take part in as many competitions, friendlies and social events ask you can. As they say, the more you put in the more you’ll get out from it.
I wish the scratch team continued success and all members representing Breadsall Priory in tournaments and matches great golf.
I will attempt to play with as many members as possible throughout my Captain’s year. I only occasionally bark and very rarely bite so if you see slots against my tee time don’t be shy put your name(s) down! That includes ladies, seniors and juniors and especially members I have not had the opportunity to play golf with previously.
I wish a warm welcome to guests and visitors. We have two
completely different courses at Breadsall and I am confident that which ever
one you play, you will enjoy the challenge.
Macmillan Cancer Support will be the Captain’s Charity this year. I am sure you will feel as enthusiastic as I to support this highly regarded cause. All contributions will be used locally to the benefit of victims of cancer and their families. 2011 is Macmillan’s one hundredth anniversary so I hope with your help we can make it successful one for them.
I wish you all enjoyable and successful golf and at the end of the season I look forward to presenting you with your prize.
May good golf be yours, may your joy from it be never ending.
