Moorland Course
Update 4th AugustAugust Aeration Work
From Monday August 8th the Greens Staff will be carrying out aeration work on the Moorland Course.
The greens will be aerated using the Graden Contour Sand Injector over 3 days with 2mm lines going to a depth of ¾ of an inch with the lines immediately filled with kiln dried sand. We will then overseed with brown top bent seed and quick release fertiliser which will be brushed and watered. Over the next two weeks we will continue to feed and water the greens as required.
The Marriott Team have switched this work to August as they believe the overall conditions, most notably soil temperature, are best at this time of year to give the quickest re-generation and they hope to have the surfaces back to pre-aeration standard within 2 weeks – in plenty of time for the back end of the year and the 3000+ rounds that are played on them each month in the winter.
The practice green on the driving range had this treatment on July 15th and we are very happy with the results.

Course Management
Please repair pitch marks. Pitch marks with the recent turn in the weather the greens are much softer and with this comes increase in pitch marks please all ensure these are replaced on entering the green remember a pitch mark replaced straight away repairs in 24 hours on that is left can take 3 weeks and increased top dressings to level surfaces.
